How tracking works
Clear rules. No surprises for anyone.
Team Sathi only records work while an employee is clocked in. We tell you exactly what we capture, what we do not, and when the app goes quiet.
Tracking has an on/off switch — it is called Clock In
Nothing is captured until an employee opens the app and clicks Clock In. The moment they clock out or take a break, every bit of monitoring stops.
Tracking is ON
Clock In → Clock Out
Working hours only. The employee chose to start the day.
Tracking is OFF
Breaks, evenings, weekends
No activity, no screenshots, nothing uploaded.
What the desktop app actually records
Everything below only runs between Clock In and Clock Out.
Clock in, clock out, breaks
Simple timestamps so the day has a start, an end, and the break windows between them.
Active and idle time
The app checks keyboard and mouse activity every 15 seconds. If there is no input for 4 minutes, that time counts as idle, not active.
Apps and websites in use
The name of the current app, and for browsers the site the window title shows (YouTube, LinkedIn, Gmail, and so on). We do not record the full URL or page content.
Screenshots — only if your company turns them on
If enabled, a screenshot is taken every few minutes during work hours. Companies can turn this off completely. Employees always see when it is on.
Which laptop the app is running on
A device ID, OS and app version, so admins can tell online from offline. No files or personal data from the machine itself.
What we never record
Monitoring stops being useful if it feels like spying. These are the lines we do not cross.
- ×Nothing is captured during breaks, after clock-out, or on weekends.
- ×No keystroke logging, no password capture, no clipboard reading.
- ×No access to personal files, photos, email contents or messages.
- ×No webcam, no microphone, no location tracking.
- ×Full URLs and search terms stay on the device — only the site name is stored.
Who can see this data
Only the employing company’s admins and authorised HR staff. The data belongs to the employer, not to us. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Screenshots and recordings are stored with signed, authenticated access — they cannot be opened by a stranger who guesses the URL.
Admins can delete stored screenshots and recordings from the dashboard at any time.
Employees know, and agree, before anything is tracked
When an employee accepts their invite, they see a plain-English consent page. It explains what the app captures, when, and why. They have to tick a box agreeing before their account becomes active.
We also save the date and device of that consent, so there is a clean record if anyone ever asks.
Try it with your team
